Spike of Bensonhurst VHS (1989) (USA)
About this film
This film stars Sasha Mitchell as an aspiring Italian American boxer in love with a rich girl (Anna De Salvo), who, as it turns out, is the daughter of a Mafia boss (Ernest Borgnine). Spike is forced to leave Bensonhurst for Red Hook, an impoverished part of Brooklyn primarily populated by Puerto Ricans. Angel: Mario Pitillo. India: Talisa Soto. Virgin Vision #70094 COMMENT: This tape has hideous tracking issues, which seem even worse now than when I first transferred the tape in 2012 (and then did the opening to it in 2019), but something I have to put up with given the film's general rarity and that it's only ever been released digitally as a region-free DVD from Australia (where it was issued under its other title, "The Mafia Kid").
