"The Lodger" is a silent horror-thriller film directed by Alfred Hitchcock, based on the novel by Marie Belloc Lowndes. Set in London, the story revolves around a mysterious lodger who rents a room from a couple, Mr. and Mrs. Bunting, in their home. Set against the backdrop of London during the infamous Jack the Ripper murders, the story follows a couple, Mr. and Mrs. Bunting , who take in a mysterious lodger into their home. As the Buntings become increasingly suspicious of their tenant’s peculiar habits and secretive behavior, they grapple with the fear that he might be connected to the gruesome crimes plaguing the city.
