The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1923)
About this film
I've been researching newly public domain films from 1929 and earlier, so I'm uploading the best possible copies that I can find. Universal Pictures biggest silent hit, The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a drama/tragedy that follows Lon Chaney's hideous but gentle Quasimodo. While this is frequently thought of as one of the best films of 1923, it is now mostly remembered for its colossal and gorgeous sets, and for Mr. Chaney's performance.
