The Woman in the Window , directed by Fritz Lang, follows the story of Professor Richard Wanley , a psychology professor in New York City. One evening, Wanley stumbles upon a portrait of a mysterious woman in a gallery, which captivates him. After being enchanted by the portrait, Wanley finds himself drawn into a web of intrigue when he later sees the actual woman, Alice Reed , at a nearby apartment window. Wanley’s fascination leads him to an encounter with Alice, which quickly turns into an unexpected and perilous situation. When her boyfriend, Franklin , arrives and threatens them, a struggle ensues, resulting in Franklin's accidental death. In an attempt to cover up the incident, Wanley faces a moral and psychological crisis. The tension escalates as he navigates the consequences of his actions, leading him to paranoia and fear of being discovered.As the story unfolds, Wanley must deal with police investigation and the guilt of his actions while trying to protect himself from being implicated. The film concludes with a shocking twist, where the true nature of the characters is revealed, blurring the lines between victim and perpetrator.
