AudioVogerl, fliegst in die Welt hinaus
About this film
Originally put out as The Cylinder Archive [ www.cylinder.de ] release for April 2002, the transfer was ripped from my website and uploaded here at archive.org by unemployedprogr@yahoo.com as item vogerl1904 . The rip was done very poorly with the lack of even basic knowledge of sound compression standards as it originated from a low-bitrate RealAudio file, as well as the lack of even simple translations of the title, decorated with imroper dating (this is not a 1904 recording). This new transfer of the very same cylinder features a much higher quality. Enjoy! "Vorgerl, fliegst in die Welt hinaus" translates into "Birdie, fly out into the world" - while the Term "Vogerl" is a southernized version of the word "Vogel", just with an added "r". The waltz performance by the Proto-Orchester is a quite unusual cylinder recording as it was made not earlier than in 1913, one year after the Edison Phonograph Co. gave up their 2-minute groove format in favor of the newer 4-minute groove, introduced in 1908. Apparently, at least one manufacturer tried to fill this gap for some time. It is very probable, that the Solitär Brand did not exist for a long time, possibly only shortly after World War…
