Screen Walk with Corinne Vionnet
About this film
Corinne Vionnet explored the production and circulation of tourist photography, from postcards of the Rhoneglacier in Switzerland to the famous monuments and sceneries included in her work Photo Opportunities. Collecting vernacular images of tourist landmarks and overlaying them together, her work explores the role that photographic production and circulation plays in mass tourism and the visual patterns that emerge from it. Vionnet also shared her working techniques, inviting the audience to collaborate in the process of creating an image. Screen Walks is a series of live-streamed artist/researcher-led explorations of online spaces and artistic strategies designed to illuminate a thriving – often overlooked – digital cultural scene. A new online collaboration between The Photographers’ Gallery , UK and Fotomuseum Winterthur , Switzerland. Screen Walks is kindly supported by: Pro Helvetia, Swiss Arts Council.
