This recording was one of the many used in testing at Bell Labs during their electrical recoding experiments. Bell Labs developed the first commercially feasible electrically recording and playback system. This record is from that period of testing. You will notice that it is over-recorded, especially on the bass. In 1925, Victor and Columbia bought the rights to this electrical recording process.
