About this film

Ryan Miller performed some covers and Guster songs with a full (not Guster) band for the Spruce Peak "Unplugged" series. He was at peak "Ryan" in his lovable weirdness and was highly entertaining as always (both musically and comically, if you're paying attention). The band he played with were some friends of his from around the area and they played really well together (it was their first time playing a gig together). The set list included some Guster standards alongside deep cuts from their repertoire (the songs that Brian doesn't let Ryan put on the set list at a Guster show). There were also some outstanding covers, most notably a hilariously appropriate rendition of "Common People" from the band Pulp. The song is a tongue-in-cheek critique of the wealthy wanting to be "like common people". Which couldn't have been more appropriate at a $1,400 per night ski lodge in Vermont. If you haven't heard the William Shatner cover of this track - do yourself a favor and get on that asap.
