AudioReflections on Violence
About this film
LibriVox recording of Reflections on Violence by Georges Sorel. (Translated by Thomas Ernest Hulme.) Read in English by Librivox Volunteers. Considered one of the more controversial books from the 20th century, Sorel's Reflections on Violence argues in favor of uprisings and strikes by the working class, which can be organized through the use of revolutionary myths. In the course of these direct actions any means is considered necessary and acceptable for the achievement of revolutionary politics. Upon successful overthrow of any established system, including democratic systems, the uprising working class can then setup syndicates as the only representative body of the people.
