My name is Protesilaos, also known as “Prot”. In this presentation I want to talk to you in plain terms about the broad theme of what philosophy is, who can be a philosopher, and why that is useful in practice. What I am about to explain at length might surprise some of you. I am of the opinion that anyone can be a philosopher. I shall elaborate on this statement, so please don’t think I am exaggerating or am playing games with you. I mean what I say and I don’t like gimmicks, anyway.
