About this film

(Onsyuu no kanatani), by Kikuchi Kan. Read by ekzemplaro. Having committed the grave crime of killing his master, Ichikurou fled Edo to Torii Tōge in Mt. Kiso. There, he made a living by running a tea house by day and robbing, even killing, travelers by night. Suddenly overwhelmed by the weight of his crimes, he became a monk and left on a pilgrimage. During his travels he comes across an enormous rock wall, where he decides to build a tunnel for the safety of the villagers. Twenty years from the murder of his master, the orphaned child of his late master appears before him.
