I've been researching newly public domain films from 1929 and earlier, so I'm uploading the best possible copies that I can find. This tragedy about an alcoholic woman on trial and the son she gave away was nominated for two Academy Awards and was released to rave reviews. The main draw for the film was the heartbreaking performance given by Ruth Chatterton, as well as sleek direction from Lionel Barrymore.
