The Cylinder Archive [ www.cylinder.de ] release for April 2014: The duets of Collins and Harlan were especially popular on Edison, but they did also serve other companies, such as this recording made for Lambert ca. 1901. The arrangement with its tapping is very much pre-1902 and often found on earlier ragtime style selection in of the brown wax cylinder era. At the very beginning before the announcement even starts, one can clearly hear a humming background, caused by the phonograph motor while the master cylinder was recorded.
