About this film

Courtesy of the View-Master VHS: Kidsongs - Very Silly Songs and the Kidsongs album of the same name. In the album version in the Sing Along Songs cassette and My Favorite Animal Songs, only Billy Daffodilly and the Kidsongs' Kids vocals are heard. However, this is the correct version where I pitched to make it sound exactly like the one from the Very Silly Songs video. And it sounds better with Silly Willy singing along, with Mrs. Daffodilly in it, too. In this song, the glockenspiel and EMU Proteus piccolo flute is mixed in the left side while the hi-hat and brass horns are in the right side. In addition, the very beginning of this song (which is in 2/2 meter) has the piccolo flute playing a six-beat E-flat 7 trill. (In the My Favorite Animal Songs disc of The 100 Greatest Kidsongs Collection, it's a D7 trill.) So all in all, this song makes some fantastic use of the bright chirrups in the piccolo flute heard in this song (especially in the last 2 verses). This is Steph, and that's the story. Lyrics: Down by the bay Where the watermelons grow, Back to my home I dare not go For if I do My mother will say: "Did you ever see a baboon holding a balloon?" Down by the bay! [Verses] 2.…
