Reel 1 (sound) : Mid-peninsula Free University demonstration and sit-in at Lytton Plaza in Palo Alto and at the law offices of Warren R. Thoits, after the landlord, Warren Thoits, reneged on the right of first refusal he had given the Free University organizers for space for university activities. "Liberate downtown Palo Alto" and "We Won't Kow-tow to Big Business" placards as students walk through the streets, ride in flat-bed trucks, and listen to a speaker (William Hydie?) in one of the empty office buildings.
