Henry Ford for President

About this film

Will Rogers the famous comedian and Oklahoma philosopher, made this tongue and cheek recording in 1923. Henry Ford wanted to run for President in 1924, and Rogers made this recording to play with the idea of a possible Ford future. He states in the recording, Why not have a Ford in the White House, there everywhere else! History tells us that Ford was not even courted by any party, and we would not have a Ford in the White House till 1974.
