Southern Regional Aquaculture Center Freshwater Prawn Production Product 298 The culture of the Giant Malaysian Prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) or freshwater shrimp in the United States is described. Culture techniques from hatchery to pond grow-out are discussed. Techniques discussed include stocking, feeding, water quality, harvesting, marketing, and economics of freshwater shrimp/prawns production.
