Material selection is explained, covering the new asphalt binder grading system which incorporates climatic conditions into the pavement specification and consensus based aggregate properties. Video demonstrates and explains the new method for laboratory compaction, and the required mix evaluation processes. Overall, an excellent introduction to the Superpave performance-based asphalt binder specifications and volumetric mix design and analysis process.
