About this film
Federal Highway Administration Video VH-288 Plows of the Future Improved snowplow designs developed by SHRP are more efficient and improve operator control and visibility. Problems with conventional moldboards, blades, and snow scoops are shown. SHRP research is briefly described, and improved products are shown in operation. Angled scoops, tall low-friction moldboards with an adjustable tripping edge, and a shortened plow frame are demonstrated. Some information is given on retrofitting existing equipment, with promises for commercial development.
