Part 2, Traffic Control Devices, reviews the five basic requirements of traffic control devices from the MUTCD and describes the types and uses of signs and channelizing devices. Part 3, Elements, develops location and placement criteria, emphasizing the calculation and delineation of tapers and buffer spaces for different speed zones. Part 4, Typical Applications, illustrates traffic control for different work conditions and stresses both state requirements and professional judgment.
