Five components of Intelligent Vehicle/Highway Systems (IVHS) are described: Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS), Advanced Traveler Information Systems (ATIS), Advanced Public Transit Systems (ATPS), Commercial Vehicle Operations (CVO), and Advanced Vehicle Control Systems (AVCS). Potential applications and current test sites are shown.
