Mr. and Mrs. Stimson depart by plane from Washington, D.C. Sgt. Joe Louis receives the Legion of Merit at Fort Hamilton, New York. Madame Chiang Kai-shek lands at Chungking and is greeted by the Generalissimo. British soldiers round up snipers in Hong Kong. Marine Gen. Sanderson accepts the surrender of the Japanese Wake Island garrison. Other personages: Gen. Marshall, Sec. of War Robert P. Patterson.
