In 1976, a series of TV cartoon shorts based on the comic strip Fred Bassett were produced by none other than Bill Melendez Productions (famous for the animated Peanuts material) and animated at Melendez Films U.K. as interstitial material for BBC running in 4 minutes and 20 seconds. 20 cartoons were produced, but the half of these cartoons (courtesy of one of its out-of-print VHS releases) can be viewed in full, while an unknown short dubbed in German as well as the first few minutes of "Puppies Tale" can be viewed on YouTube. These cartoons aren't uploaded here on the Archives, so I present to you the Fred Bassett TV cartoons from 1976 here on the Internet Archives for the very first time. © Andrews McMeel Syndication, Bill Melendez Productions.
