The Cylinder Archive [ www.cylinder.de ] release for July 2014: John J. Fisher [ca. 1866-1923] was a recording artist who started in the late 1890s and became a well issued artist after 1900 on Columbia cylinders. This Edison brown wax cylinder dates from March 1899, at a time when he just started one or two years ago. The overall sound quality is very clear and embodies all the typical sonic characteristics of a pantographic (mechanically done) copy.
