The Cylinder Archive [ www.cylinder.de ] release for December 2012: Carl Nebe with his Nebe-Quartett recorded a great variety of Christmas selections on cylinder record. Two of the songs feature a rare recording of a children's choir. The recently instroduced 4-minute cylinders now easily allowed a medley that would include much more than just two songs. These songs are included in this medley: Es ist ein Ros entsprungen ( English translation 'Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming' ) Stille Nacht ( English translation 'Silent Night' ) Morgen, Kinder, wird's was geben ( English translation 'Tomorrow, children, just wait!' ) Dies ist der Tag, den Gott gemacht ( 'This is the day god has made', no English version known ) O du fröhliche ( English translation 'Oh how joyfully' )
