DISPATCH played at The Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York City. Our first time at the venue, and my birthday, it was certainly one filled with memories. My baby boy got his first photo with the band and his mom and dad. I lost my primary field recorder (Zoom F3) to water damage due to torrential downpours. The rain also caused several start/stop moments during the show, including one for lightning right before the Dispatch set was set to begin. It was quite an experience huddling with hundreds of other fans in the unfinished bowels of a random building in NYC. This was Brad's first show back on the tour after the birth of his baby girl, and he dedicated tonight's "Falling" to his wife Lisa. The house sound guys were incredibly gracious and seemingly entertained by my feverish pivot to the Zoom H4n Pro recorder once the F3 died. The recording suffers a bit because of that downgrade but perhaps a little more just from the very drunk crowd and the difficulty to get my mics far enough away from them.
