Dispatch Live at 9:30 Club on 2024-10-21

DISPATCH played their final stop on the 2024 Amplifying Democracy Tour in the nation's capital at the iconic 9:30 Club. At one point during the set, Brad estimated that the last time they had played together as DISPATCH in DC was probably around 2001. Singer-songwriter Brooke Annibale opened the show which took place on a mild early autumn evening. My wife and I had jumped on the tour three shows earlier in Harrisburg, PA so this was our fourth show in five nights. Having been to those previous sets, as well as their first show of the season back in May at Memorial Meltdown and several in between, I can say with reasonable confidence that this was the perfect closing act and epic crescendo for a busy year. The band announced, as they had for the past few shows, that a new album would be out around May 2025 and to keep an eye out for upcoming tour news. This only further electrified the already animated crowd who really brought the energy with some epic singing. The crowd was so (loudly) appreciative as the band came out for not one, but an uncharacteristic two, encores.
