On April 14th, 1973 Mae West was honored by the Hollywood Masquers Club. She performed her “Diamond Lil Soliloquy” for the guests. Diamond Lil was Mae West’s first major Broadway success. The Soliloquy tells the humorously lurid tale of the legendary character she created and performed for stage and screen. She also offered a rendition of her signature song, “Frankie and Johnny”.
