About this film

The City of Utrecht and its annual fair more than a century ago in 1917 (restored, enhanced and A.I. upscaled and colorized footage). Utrecht lies central in the province with the same name in The Netherlands. The annual fair, called De Jaarbeurs, is still held every year. Utrecht is and old city and characterized by old canals, similar to those in Amsterdam and Delft. A famous church is the Dom church (built in 1254) which has the highest 112 meter steeple in the country. The tower was separated from the nave during a severe storm in 1674. Originally it was a catholic cathedral but became protestant in 1580.
