The Cylinder Archive [ www.cylinder.de ] release for December 2013: This cylinder was recorded by the Columbia Phonograph Company in 1896 and is a rather awkward Christmas selection. It probably is the most commercial one of its time, recorded by auctioneer W. O. Beckenbaugh, who is holding an imaginative auction of toys and other things on Christmas eve. In a social perspective this could be a pre-echo of the American Black Friday sales and the correlation between business and Christian holidays. Enjoy!
