About this film
The Cylinder Archive [ www.cylinder.de ] release for April 2013: The clarinet player William Tuson had a great recording career during the brown wax era, starting as early as 1890. This particular recording dates from 1897 and is, unfortunately unlike most of these early records, in pristine condition. It was recorded for the Columbia Phonograph Company with their recently opened office in New York when they had moved from Washington, DC.
