The Cylinder Archive [ www.cylinder.de ] previous release for June 2000: Du bist zu schön um treu zu sein - Written by Alois Kutschera (You are too beautiful to be true) Transferred from a German Columbia Phonograph Co. cylinder record (#57050) from ca. 1902-04. This black wax cylinder had a severe edge chip damage but gladly could be repaired and transferred with several hours of different attempts. Thanks to Paul in San Francisco who helped to identify the singer's full name. Although the Columbia cylinder reads his last name with a single 'F' I am also very sure that this is the very same voice.
