Beneath The Planet Of The Apes (Full 1990 CBS/FOX Video VHS)
About this film
Mankind Is Driven Underground! Superb makeup, creative effects, and impressive sets highlight this second entry in the immensely popular "Apes" series. Featuring Charlton Heston and James Franciscus, this sequel picks up where Planet Of The Apes left off, astronaut Brent (Franciscus) crashing through the time barrier in search of the vanished Taylor (Heston). He arrives on a future Earth where talking apes rule, and the last intelligent humans, a race of mutants who practice thought control, dwell in a subterranean city. There they worship one remaining nuclear weapon -- a cobalt bomb capable of destroying the entire planet and all life on it. Both an action-oriented science-fiction adventure and a wry commentary on today's world, Beneath The Planet Of The Apes is imaginative entertainment for fantasy buffs of all ages.
