About this film
B-roll video of Puspashree Pattnaik that was filmed for the use in "The Volunteer Archivists", a 2022 documentary film directed and produced by Subhashish Panigrahi. It was shot as a 1080p in raw video format and was later edited to be used for the film. The film chronicles the journey of Srujanika, a collective of volunteers, who have digitized the largest number of printed books, periodicals and other publications in the Odia language. Odia is spoken by over 45 million speakers primarily in the state of Odisha in India and the earliest printed publication in the language dates back to the 1800s. This film builds on the narratives of Srujanika's co-founders Puspashree Pattnaik and Nikhil Mohan Pattnaik, a couple who dedicated their entire life for creating a culture of making science more fun and exploratory through horizontal and peer-learning for children and adolescents.
