Torrey was an influential preacher of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century who worked with D.L. Moody and founded what is now Biola University in southern California. His preaching was extensive and evangelistic. He also authored over 40 books. This is a collection of over a hundred of his favorite brief stories an illustrations that made his sermons so powerful in connecting with his audiences.
