Gov. Gary Johnson (2012-06-16)
About this film
This week's guest on “Report from Santa Fe” is Governor Gary Johnson, Libertarian Party candidate for the office of President of the United States, and former two-term governor of the state of New Mexico, serving from 1995 to 2003. An experienced athlete who has summited Mt. Everest, a successful businessman, and a governor who reportedly vetoed more bills in one year than all other 49 governors combined, Gary Johnson discusses the great range of experience and ideas he brings as the Libertarian candidate. Elaborating his platform, Governor Johnson supports a balanced federal budget, entitlement reform, repeal of the Patriot Act, ending the drug wars, and abolishing the federal department of education. While many of his stances are conservative, especially fiscally conservative, the American Civil Liberties Union has given him the highest score of any candidate running because of his positions on civil liberties. Guest: Gary Johnson. Hostess: Lorene Mills.
