This week on New Mexico in Focus, correspondent Antonia Gonzales previews the Native Women’s Business Summit, scheduled for April 5-6. After selling out the first year, organizers have bigger plans for this spring’s conference, which draws from across the country to support Native women who are often already leaders in their communities but face unique challenges. Correspondent Megan Kamerick sits down with the executive director of the Santa Fe Film Office, Eric Witt, to look at a bill passed this legislative session that revamps New Mexico’s film incentive program. The governor seems poised to lift the $50 million annual cap on the program, though some say it offered much-needed predictability for state finances. Host Gene Grant and the Line opinion panel examine the fallout of the news blast that resounded around the nation when U.S. Senator Tom Udall announced he would not seek reelection in 2020.
