About this film

This week's guest on "Report from Santa Fe" is Mary Johnson, author of “An Unquenchable Thirst: Following Mother Teresa in Search of Love, Service, and an Authentic Life.” She made the difficult transition from the life of a nun to the life of an outstanding writer, describing the great similarities between the two. Based on the challenges of her own experience, she set up a foundation for emerging women writers called “A Room of Her Own,” from the title of the book “A Room of One’s Own,” by Virginia Woolf. Her foundation addresses the neglect and lack of support faced by women artists in America. Johnson describes her 20-year odyssey as a Missionary of Charity, the order of nuns created by Mother Teresa to help the poorest of the poor and feed the hungry, and her decision to return to life outside the cloister.
