This episode explores our two major political parties and probes their similarities, differences, and sometimes their sameness. Also, the episode points up the two different points of view that have existed within each political party and illustrates how all the opposing views and factions in the internal organization still remain cemented by party loyalty and how services and rewards go hand in hand with political success. Featured in the episode are man-on-the-street interviews with voters in Nebraska and California, coverage of an Italian-American Democratic Club meeting in Hartford, Conn., in which the problem of party unity is examined; an appraisal of the political parties by noted politicians, congressional and government leaders, and political scientists.
