The special guest this episode is Richard W. Boone. Mr. Boone is captain of the Sheriff's Juvenile Bureau in Cook County, Ill. He is a former sociologist and institutional parole officer for the Illinois State Reformatory at Sheridan, Ill. A youthful prisoner relates his experiences in a training school and following a description by criminologist Joseph D. Lohman of standard roles attributed to these schools, filmed scenes are shown to examine activities designed for younger inmates. Boone and Lohman explore the misconceptions inherent in the term "training school." They examine the actual function and operation of this type of institution.
