About this film
There are two specials guests this episode. The first is Sanger B. Powers. Mr. Powers is director of the Division of Corrections for the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Welfare. He is a developer of professional staffs and techniques in prison classification and segregation. The second guest is Robert J. Wright. Mr. Wright is president of the American Correctional Association and warden at Westchester County Penitentiary, Valhalla, New York. Between pre-conviction detention and imprisonment in state institutions there is an untouched frontier in corrections, say criminologist Joseph D. Lohman. Films show the variety of activities that must be incorporated in a county system. Powers and Lohman delve into the elements necessary for an integrated county system and Lohman and Wright establish how such a system works. (Description adapted from documents in the NET Microfiche)
