Jim Engster moderates a debate at the Baton Rouge Press Club on November 21, 2016, between the two candidates in the runoff election for Mayor-President of East Baton Rouge Parish: former State Senator Sharon Weston Broome (D) and State Senator Bodi White (R). The debate begins with each candidate's opening statement. Members of the press then ask the candidates questions on the following topics: Mayor-President Kip Holden's accomplishments; the next police chief; the Green Light Program; the United States Department of Justice's upcoming decision in the Alton Sterling case; unifying the parish; the incorporation of St. George; their initial reaction to the election of President-Elect Donald Trump; the Fairness Ordinance; residency requirements for police officers; the division between north and south Baton Rouge; education; the plan of government; FEMA; and the revitalization of north Baton Rouge. The debate ends with each candidate's closing statement.
