Celebrating the Silver Anniversary of the Wilderness Act: This year the nation marks the 25th anniversary of the Wilderness Act which enabled the creation of the American wilderness system and the preservation of pristine wilderness areas in their natural state. Today some 90.7 million acres in national parks, forests, wildlife refuges, and BLM lands have been protected by Congress as wilderness areas. At Week's End commemorates this anniversary and celebrates New Mexico's wilderness lands.
