Jesse Jackson calls for more Coast Guard funding for drug interdiction. reporter: BoeriDavid Boeri reports that Edward Kennedy (US Senator) took a cruise on a Coast Guard boat to Little Brewster Island in Boston Harbor. Boeri notes that Little Brewster Island is the site of a lighthouse that was repaired with funds procured by Kennedy from the federal government. Boeri reports that funding for the Coast Guard has been cut by the federal government, resulting in closed facilities and fewer patrols. Boeri's reports includes footage from an interview with Robert Johanson (Rear Admiral, US Coast Guard) talking about the budget cuts. Boeri reports that Kennedy and Jesse Jackson (Democratic candidate for US President) have called for a restoration of funds to the Coast Guard. Boeri notes that Coast Guard patrols can stem the flow of drugs into the US. Boeri's report includes footage of Jackson talking about the Coast Guard and footage of Kennedy on Little Brewster Island.
