About this film

Rat Alley - where the world of crime meets the world of politics - is Fitzpatrick's invention for attacking corruption in public life. He joins host Passonneau and Sheriff Joseph Lohman to take them and the viewer on a tour of Rat Alley and some of the problems facing the citizens of American communities who want to cope with crime and corruption. The three talk of organized crime and of the efforts of city and state governments to combat it. They also discuss the famous cartoon drawn in protest to judges, which caused Fitzpatrick to be put into jail for contempt of court. Fitzpatrick ends the program with a statement of his belief that a crusading press and an active public are essential to preserve the general welfare of the community.
