About this film

LibriVox volunteers bring you 19 recordings of A Warning by Ella Wheeler Wilcox. This was the Weekly Poetry project for November 15, 2020. Read in English by Andrew Gaunce; Algy Pug; Bruce Kachuk; Claudia Salto; David Lawrence; Darren Kurtz; EliseDee; Greg Giordano; Garth Burton; Graham Scott; Kristine Wales; Lee Ann Howlett; Cavaet; Phil Schempf; Paul Harvey; Rachel May; Ryan Fink; Sebastian LaVine and samjn. Around the age of 8, Wilcox turned to writing poetry as an outlet. When she was 13 years old, her first poem was published. After losing her subscription to The New York Mercury, and being unable to afford to resubscribe, Wilcox thought that if she could get a piece of literature published, she would at least receive a copy of the paper wherein her piece was printed. The piece that she submitted is lost, and Wilcox later admitted that she could not recall even the topic of the poem. Wilcox became known as a poet in her own state by the time she graduated from high school. - Summary by Wikipedia For further information, including links to online text, reader information, RSS feeds, CD cover or other formats (if available), please go to the LibriVox catalog page for this record…
