About this film

Shows the Kanuri people of northeastern Nigeria in celebration of one of Islam's most important festivals, Id el Kebir, or the "Ram Festival", commemorating Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son. Although primarily a religious event, the festival also vividly presents to the public the core of the traditional Kanuri kingdom.
