British Gen Brian Robertson and US Gen Lucius D Clay speak at conference. Gen Robertson in his speech emphasizes Great Britain 's wish for sufficient food for the German people. Gen Clay in his talk expresses the hope that the responsibility for food can soon be placed in German hands. "GEN MC NARNEY INAUGURATES THE PATTON BRIDGE"(Issue No 58).: Germany. A permanent bridge across the Rhine connecting Cologne and Deutz is formally opened by US Gen Joseph T McNarney. Standing on the bridge, the general salutes the passing land barges.
