A good cast trapped in a high camp melodrama notorious for its miscasting of Austrian Hedy Lamarr as a black temptress, which unintentionally turns out to be part of the fun. An adaptation of Ida Simonton's novel and Leon Gordon's 1923 play. Filmed before in the UK in1929. TRIVIA: Condemned by the Legion of Decency for miscegenation.
