About this film
Dr. Joseph F. Rock was one of the leading anthropological explorers of the early 20th century. Ho Hua-tʹing, Na-khi dto-mba (shaman) from west of the Li-chiang snow range in Kunming demonstrates dances of the various Na Khi deities during which the particular enemy of each god is vanquished. Originally produced in 1954, using footage filmed in 1932. Silent film with English intertitles.
